You will feel like you are in the south of France wherever you are, all year round!
These four red, white and blue cicada-shaped knife rests will bring some colour to your dinner table.
See description below
Since 1900, Louis Sicard has been making tableware collections where the cicada takes pride of place, whether as an ornament or as a decorative piece for the table in the form of a knife rest.
A century later, as a tribute to this illustrious artist, the Louis Sicard company has created the ‘Cigale Evocation’ collection. An evocation of the artist’s designs in clean, contemporary lines and colours.
The cicada knife rest is made from kaolin clay shaped through the casting method.
After being baked at 1040°, it is soaked in a monochrome enamel bath. It is then baked again at 1000°, which will set the colour and prevent it from fading.
- Comes as a set of four in the three colours in its presentation box
- Care advice: Wash before first use. All models are guaranteed dishwasher safe. Not suitable for the microwave or oven.

About Louis Sicard
Back in 1895 in Aubagne, Louis Sicard (1871–1946) created the first earthenware cicada.
This went on to become Louis Sicard’s iconic piece. For over 120 years now, the cicada has been an attractive decorative object traditionally given as a gift in Provence for luck. Since 1890, the Louis Sicard pottery works has been making earthenware table services, decorative objects and cicadas.
